Push Fit Cast Iron Soil Gasket Relaxing Tool - 100mm
|Brand||Hargreaves Traditional Express|
|Life Expected||100 Years +|
|Specification||BS 416/2 (Cast Iron) and BS EN 681 (Gaskets)|
The gasket relaxing tool is used to make the pushfit joints on the Traditional Express cast iron soil system.
To make the jointing process easier, immediately prior to assembling the joint you should apply a small amount of lubricant (TX0001) to the rubber gasket and insert the relaxing tool (TX0002) into the joint. Slide the relaxing tool up and down over the gasket sealing face three or four times.
The gasket will now be temporarily softer and this will enable easier assembly of the joint. Be careful that during this process you do not insert the relaxing tool past the rubber gasket.
This soil pipe range is particularly well-suited to installations in public buildings, listed buildings and conservation projects. It is 100% recyclable. Click here to view or download full installation instructions.
Pushfit Cast Iron Soil System
Our Traditional Express cast iron soil pipe system uses two modern EPDM rubber seals within the sockets, enabling fast and easy joints to be made.
Unlike the traditional lead-poured joint system of old, push fit cast iron soil pipes need no specialist training to install. The only system tools required are the TX0002 gasket relaxing tool and some TX0001 lubricant.
Cast iron pipe is strong, durable and it has excellent sound-deadening qualities. Correctly installed, it will last for the lifetime of the building.
