MDPE Pipe - 63mm x 50mtr Black
Black Non-Potable MDPE pipe is generally used for irrigation and agricultural purposes or in general commercial applications.
It is not suitable for the supply of drinking water.
Our normal range of MDPE fittings should be used in conjunction with this pipe.
Water and Gas Pipes
MDPE (medium density polyethylene) is now the most common material used in the manufacture of water and gas supplies in the UK. Unlike previously used materials such as copper and iron, MDPE will not degrade to any great degree with age. Adaptors are available within our range of fittings to connect to these older materials if a connection is required.
Potable (drinkable) water mains are always blue in colour whereas non-potable mains are black. Gas pipe is always yellow.
We would always recommend that any water or gas main buried in the ground is installed inside a duct. This both protects the pipe and makes removal or replacement a much easier task.
