Impermeable Membranes For Attenuation

A critical component of any attenuation tank is a high-performance impermeable membrane. This specialised liner acts as an effective barrier, preventing water from infiltrating the surrounding soil and ensuring it remains safely contained within the tank.

Unlike permeable geotextiles used for drainage applications, impermeable membranes are specifically designed to be entirely watertight. They are constructed to retain water within a designated area or structure, preventing unwanted water ingress in other areas.

We offer two impermeable liner options to cater to your specific attenuation tank requirements:

  • Individual Impermeable Membranes: These membranes are ideal for projects where you can customise the tank size and shape or for particularly large systems that are too large for a pre-fabricated “shoebox” to be created. We offer various roll sizes and materials like LLDPE (Linear Low-Density Polyethylene) and polypropylene to suit your needs along with sundries such as “top hats” for pipe inlets/outlets and sealing tapes.
  • Pre-Fabricated Attenuation Tank Liners ("Shoeboxes"): For a complete and convenient solution, we offer pre-fabricated "shoebox" liners. These liners consist of two fabricated pieces that can be easily assembled on-site with “top hats” and sealing tapes to allow pipe inlets and outlets to be installed while retaining its ability to remain watertight.

Our pre-fabricated "shoebox" membranes are also supplied with a non-woven protector geotextile (protection fleece). This fleece is essential for wrapping the entire tank system before backfilling. It safeguards the impermeable liner from punctures caused by sharp objects in the backfill material, maintaining the system's integrity and functionality.
